Information on Ship Waste Reception – Seaport of Nowe Warpno

In accordance with the Act of 12 May 2022 on Port Reception Facilities for Ship-Generated Waste (Journal of Laws 2022, item 1250), the Seaport of Nowe Warpno provides facilities for the reception of ship-generated waste.

1. Location of reception facilities

Port reception facilities are located within the Seaport of Nowe Warpno. The detailed location of the reception facilities is shown on the map attached to the Ship Waste Management Plan for the Seaport of Nowe Warpno (July 2024)   -  MAP.

2. Hours of availability

Reception facilities are available during port operating hours. Waste reception outside these hours may be arranged upon request to the port administrator.

3. Waste reception procedures

• The ship’s master reports the intention to deliver waste to the port administrator.
• Waste is delivered to the designated reception facilities according to the procedures described in the Plan.
• Waste reception is carried out in a manner ensuring both safety and environmental protection.

4. Types of waste received

The port accepts all types of ship-generated waste, including:

• oily waste,
• solid garbage,
• sewage.

5. Responsible person

The administrator of the Seaport of Nowe Warpno, appointed by the Municipality of Nowe Warpno, is responsible for organizing waste reception.

6. Costs and financing

The costs of operating the waste reception system include:

• investment costs – purchase, installation, and maintenance of reception facilities,
• operational costs – technical servicing, transport, and disposal of collected waste,
• administrative costs – handling notifications, documentation, and system supervision,
• environmental and safety costs – monitoring environmental impact and compliance with regulations.

The system is financed through:

• fees paid by port users (ships using the reception service),
• own resources of the port authority,
• other sources of financing specified in the Plan.
